Position: First Grade Teacher
Bio: Mary earned her BS in Elementary Education from Indiana University. After graduating, she taught in Rogers Park for 4 years, then took a break from the classroom to raise her four children. She has lived in Elmhurst for 19 years, where she remained active in education, substituting all grade levels for 8 years, and as a permanent Building Substitute at Sandburg Middle School for the past 4 years. She is very excited to return to full-time teaching and to lead a classroom of her own. When not working, Mary is an avid reader of historical fiction, loves to golf, bike ride, and enjoys spending time with her family and their little dog Teddy.
Name: Amanda Wilson
Position: Second Grade Teacher
Bio: Amanda Wilson has been part of the staff at Zion-Concord for the last few years. She is very excited to get her own classroom. She recently graduated in December 2020 from Concordia Chicago where she played tennis and led a Christian Youth Ministry team. Amanda was born and raised in St. Louis, MO, and then moved to the Chicagoland area for college, and decided to stay. When she’s not in the classroom, Amanda enjoys hiking, playing tennis, and reading. She is looking forward to guiding her students in their academics and sharing with them her love of God.
