Meet Mary:

I'm Mary Walsh. This is my 3rd year teaching at Zion-Concord. I have been teaching for 15+ years. I'm an Indiana University graduate. I live and raised my 4 children in Elmhurst for the past 23 years. I consider myself a lifelong learner...love to read and learn new things, I love children and am passionate about teaching!

Teaching Philosophy:

As an educator, I believe in fostering a love for learning, encouraging curiosity in an environment where children discover, make mistakes and grow. Our classroom is our school family where we work together, learn together, play together and laugh together. I am a solid believer in the power of 'YET'. I share this philosophy in my classroom, daily! Students who understand the power of yet develop a growth mindset. A life skill that teaches children to try new things, face challenges and the art of perseverance!
